im ngl. I'm on day 7 with xyx, my final route to play, and I'm just now realizing the dark shading around his mouth is not his lips! At least, I think the illustrator was goin for that. Same goes for nightowl while I played his route. The open mouth illustrations for both had me so confused. My eyes definitely played tricks on me.
EDIT: my eyes keep understanding and switching the shading from open mouth to xyx's lips
Edit 2023: I haven't played the game again but I did want to leave an update. I was harsh in this review because I was still in shock from how uncomfortable the game made me feel. I stand by what I said regarding the game as a whole: it is a very good game. It has good plot, good premise, and good characters. The game has thousands of positive reviews, don't let my one negative one ruin your experience. Play the game for yourself and decide. Blooming Panic is a good game, just not for me in particular. And I think that's okay.

I think I feel uncomfortable lol
You had me at the discord interface. Mwah. It's funny, it's clever, it works really well, and it makes sense to have a discord interface. The dialogue is ON POINT, like 100% how people speak in discord servers, and I felt myself become legitimately invested in this group of characters.
I haven't finished any route yet because the romance makes me uncomfortable. Or rather, the feeling of being forced into romance. I think... I'm leading into Quest's route by accident?? I agreed with him in a couple of things and suddenly he's CLEARLY interested in me, which, cringe. The dialogue options don't help, since they feel like I'm saying the same thing either way. Like come on, I can say "wow you're my hero" or "I wish I could kiss you"?? I don't want to say either of those things!! Sir we met 3 days ago!!! WTF!!!
I like the story, but god, between the ex still being in love with me and now Quest being in love with me, I had to close the game.
Blooming Panic is correct in that there is Panic Blooming In Me every time Quest starts acting sus. Again, we met 3 days ago sir. I'm on this server to talk about my favourite book with people, not smooch the first person who makes me laugh. There is no chemistry, I don't feel it. I don't even know HOW I got stuck in Quest's route, the game doesn't let me choose much.
Everything else about this game, I adore. I wish there were a few more options, and more often. The characters are all nice and fleshed out, they all have their own opinions, I legitimately feel like I'm talking with a group of real people. I like the little voice clips every so often. Quest please stop being attracted to me <3 and also maybe stop going on discord while you're on the job???
I think I'll begrudgingly power through Quest's route (if my crawling skin doesn't kill me first) and then I'll TRY and see if I can go for nightowl's route. I want to give this game another chance after reading other comments but I don't know if I can recover from this.

A friend got me to try Blooming Panic and it's been a long time since a dating sim has captivated me this much! The quick playthrough makes this game so replayable and I've already replayed it twice in the last few days! It's hard to believe that a free game can be this thoroughly enjoyable and I feel a little bad for not paying anything for it because it's definitely worth spending money on ❤️
I enjoyed this so much! As a fellow Ren'py dev, I was fascinated and impressed by the Discord interface. But mostly I adored the denizens of the discord server (special side character props to Biglady and Sal!) and... Xyx. Xyx, my love. I have not fallen this hard for a 2D person in a very long time and was so delighted to see that my natural dialogue choices landed me on his route.

i loved this so much, the best sim I have ever played. the ending twist was crazy and i enjoyed every second of it. loved how you can pick your pronouns, which is something i always look for since its hard to find mxm sims. i loved all of the characters (except our exboyfriend >:(( ) and i fell in love with all of them.
xyx's route was fun to play through and so was nakedtoaster, i wish there was a route for onion because i want to know more about him, but what we have is fine and amazing and im very happy with it.

I've played two routes so far and I really enjoy this game. I've only had two real gripes so far - that one week is not enough time to fall in love, but despite this I felt the progression was natural. Just too fast, but it's a short game so I can ignore that.
only other one is that I found it weird there has been no name reveals? Even in the ending scenes, we are still calling the by usernames and it's just very strange.
Overall really great work here, just wanted to offer the nit picky things I thought of.
Edit: I have finished all of them now, and I loved each one so much! This makes me really want to see how you could flex those writing muscles in an even longer game. There is a really wholesome and unique style to the whole story and I just love it so much. The artwork is also fantastic. I wanted to also say that you guys really nailed down the emotions and vibe of having friends online, and even falling for someone through such a platform. I've been there, done that, and it all felt so nostalgic to me.
I really look forward to any future projects. This was a true gem in the genre. :)

I finished xyx's route and gosh it was so good and I wanted to come and shower you guys with praises BUT I played nightowl's route and I FELL IN LOVE not with just him, the dialogues, the banter, the fights, everything is so good! I LOVE that they're adults adults, not barely 18 like many otome/visual novels. I can be very VERY picky, harsh and even unforgiving when it comes to otome. Some creators have gotten the end of that but I have no complains, I absolutely ADORE the game and the characters. Kudos you guys! Keep up the good work! Hoping I'll see more from you guys! 💕
Oh right I forgot to say! Voice actors are awesome. Super hot and others super cute and fitting with their characters.
Again I forgot. I do have one complain. It's too fast and too soon for the characters to be trusting MC or even falling in love. At least not in one week or even a day like in xyx's case, he seems to already like MC in one day. It's a bit too unrealistic. It's forgiveable but only because the dialogues and characters are so good. I know it's a short game though it's important to remember that time is needed when it comes to the matter of the heart.

All good! Someone did catch that bug a few days ago in the comments. If you redownload the game and restart the quest route (you can use CTRL and the red speed button to race ahead in 5 min) it should be patched out! You can see a list of fixed bugs above the download link - that's where I'll be trackin them.

I loved the original game, and Full Bloom even more. For a FREE, indie otome, this game is 10/10.

For other linux users - the .sh file packaged in the windows download is, in fact, natively compatible with linux if you have python installed.
i went for he/him proununs and in Quests route in day 4, when society starts bad mouthing Quest, he went
in some stupid deadend job who hasnt talked to a `girl` in 5 years
and now hes using his widdle mod powers to win `her` over.
its just a little typo mistake, loved the new route tho!
